The Shire of Ramsgaard is located in the shining Principality of Tir Righ, found in the grand Kingdom of An Tir. It is an active branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). Geographically, the Shire of Ramsgaard includes the City of Kamloops, the Thompson Nicola Regional District, and extends to the communities Barrière, Logan Lake and Merritt, all in British Columbia, Canada.

The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. is an international non-profit volunteer organization. The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and employing knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, other educational presentations and activities.

Over fifty years after its inception, the SCA is now an international group with over 30,000 paid members, and is incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization in the USA and a registered Extraprovincial Society in BC.
