The Seneschellete wanted to provide information with the recent announcement of the requirement to provide proof of vaccination to attend discretionary indoor events.

Starting September 13, 2021 this will become a mandatory requirement.

There have been some points clarified in the last couple days.

Proof of vaccination will be required for:

• Indoor organized events with 50 or more people.
• Indoor organized events with less than 50 people, except adult sports, will not require proof of vaccination. If there is the possibility the event can exceed 50 people it should be implemented to check proof of vaccination.
• Indoor organized group recreational classes and activities like pottery, art and choir.
• Organized indoor seated events can be held with a maximum of 50 people or up to 50% of the venue's total capacity, whichever is greater.
• An event held in a tent with one or more sides is an inside event.

There will be a BC Vaccine Card Verifier app available starting September 13. This will be available on the Apple App store and Google Play Store. Apple IOS 11 or greater and Android 8.1 or greater will be required to use this app.

• The app will require access to the camera of the device.
• The app does not require internet access to operate once installed.
• Only people aged 12+ will need to show proof of vaccination.

The following qualifies as proof of vaccination

• A BC Immunization record **Accepted only until September 26, 2021
• The BC Vaccine Card, can be saved to phone, printed or acquired through the mail
• An outside-of-BC immunization record **Accepted if you are visiting BC

International visitors must show:

• Proof of vaccination they used to enter Canada (like ArriveCAN)
• Passport

Everyone aged 19+ must show government-issued photo ID with their proof of vaccination.

This information does not require to be kept after the event and can be destroyed.

The process will be added to The Principalities Communicable Disease Plan.
