Greetings from the Shire of Ramsgaard!

The Shire of Ramsgaard is located in the shining Principality of Tir Righ, found in the grand Kingdom of An Tir. It is an active Branch of The Society for Creative Anachronism. The borders of the Shire of Ramsgaard extend to and include Kamloops and the Thompson Nicola Regional District including Merritt, Barriere, Sorrento and Logan Lake.

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization. The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and employing knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities.

Fifty years after it's inception, the SCA is now an international group with over 30,000 paid members, and is incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization.

Plans are being worked on to start the shire having a bi-monthly welcome day!  This will be a time for new comers and people interested in learning more to come join us for a day of fun!  There will be marshal, and rapier, as well as Arts, Sciences classes and demonstrations and yes, maybe even some bardic?  And of course, a great luncheon or dinner in the way of a pot luck for everyone to sit down and enjoy some quality time with each other!

A great opportunity for members to reconnect, as well as to share the fun!

If you are interested in hosting a Welcome Day (a great way to learn event stewarding!) please contact the Shire!  (Opens FB Messenger)

Arts & Sciences

In the SCA we try to enrich each other's lives and bring beauty and knowledge to our Shire & Principality through what we call the Arts and Sciences (A&S). Research, classes, competitions and local project nights connect people from our Shire. They can teach or learn new skills and share historical knowledge about daily life habits like cooking & creating encampments, fine arts and crafts such as weaving, embroidery, jewelry making, leather-work, costuming and much, much more. Even the armour and weapon creation for all the combat forms of participation are A&S.

Arts and Sciences is one of the largest parts of the SCA as it effects most everything we do, but often the most unnoticed as it's usually done behind the scenes.

Here in the Shire of Ramsgaard we have an A&S Officer (and Deputy) who will organize activities, answer questions and guide where needed. We welcome all participation and at the present time we are hosting our A&S sessions alongside our weekly Fighting Practice on Sundays, as well as some online and special events.

Please direct any questions to HL Anasztaszia Bilough Sabone.
